AIRCRAFT UTILIZATION

Why is this indicator so important for an airline? What are the key areas that need improvement, and which management strategies are the most effective in addressing them?
One of the critical performance indicators for an airline is daily/monthly aircraft utilization
This metric reflects how effectively the aircraft fleet is being used and encompasses various aspects of the airline's operations. When aiming to significantly boost efficiency, especially in response to market demand, optimizing aircraft utilization is always a key factor to consider.

To achieve this goal, a comprehensive assessment of current production capabilities was conducted, focusing on several key areas:

  • Analyzing the capabilities of the line maintenance station.
  • Enhancing planning and control procedures for line maintenance.
  • Improving the TBS process by analyzing system statistics and identifying the root causes of defects.
  • Implementing predictive analysis-based maintenance.
  • Strengthening control over AOG (Aircraft on Ground) situations and managing defect resolution timelines by teams.
  • Enhancing collaboration between the MCC (Maintenance Control Center) and both line and transit maintenance providers.
  • Implementing an aircraft life cycle planning process within the airline.
  • Developing and updating technical specifications for each aircraft.
  • Improving the management of unit supplies, spare parts, and consumables.
  • Monitoring spare part repairs using objective indicators.
  • Establishing HBS (Home Base Stock) and POOL contracts for spare parts and engines.
For fleets of up to 5-7 aircraft, the full implementation of these changes can be completed within three months
Each aspect can be quantified following the initial diagnostics, allowing us to set clear expectations for results. We can then calculate the necessary investments, whether operational or capital, and establish a timeline for achieving the desired outcomes.
